IONIA COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman is in a hospital after being flown by Aero Med from a car crash in Ionia County.

The sheriff's department says the wreck happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on W. Portland Road near Nash Highway in Boston Township.

Investigators said the driver of the car, Brittany Zevenbergen of Grand Rapids, was traveling when the car began to go off the road. In an attempt to get back on the road, she lost control, causing the car to roll over.

The car came to a rest in a cornfield.

Deputies said Zevenbergen suffered serious injuries.
