JANESVILLE, Wisc. (WOOD) - A man from Michigan was arrested in Wisconsin where he traveled to allegedly have sexual relations with a person who he thought was a teenager he met online.

Jerry Osmolinski , 64, from Belding confessed to the crime and was charged Wednesday with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, exposing a child to harmful material or harmful descriptions or narrations , and sexual exploitation of a child.

Michigan State Police investigators were contacted by investigators from the Janesville (Wisc.) Police Department for assistance with an investigation.

after they assumed the online identity of a 13-year-old girl.

During the span of several weeks Osmolinski discussed having a sexual relationship and exchanged illegal images during a span of several weeks, assuming he was talking with a child, according to Michigan State Police.

On Monday Osmolinski went to a home in Janesville, Wisc. where he thought the teen lived. But authorities gave him a fictitious address.

Osmolinski was arrested and taken to the Rock County (Wisc.) Jail.

Michigan State Police troopers served a search warrant at Osmolinski's home in Belding where additional evidence was collected. Additional criminal charges in Michigan are pending.

Osmolinski used Yahoo! Messenger to communicate online, with the screen name “OSMOJJO.” If you know of any other juveniles who have had online contact with Osmolinski then you are asked to contact your local police department.

Members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force/Digital Evidence Unit and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) assisted in the case.
