Two teens critical in Barry Co. crash

Victims are 19 and 16 years old

DELTON, Mich. (WOOD) - Two Delton Kellogg High School students are in critical condition after a van they were riding in wheeled out of control on M-43 near Sprague Road in Delton on Monday evening, police say.

The van swerved off the right side of the road, traveled 700 feet, crossed the highway and slammed into some trees, according to police.

The 16-year-old is Mitchell Chapman, his family members confirmed for 24 Hour News 8. The other student is age 19 and police have not released his identity.

The accident remains under investigation.
