ALLEGAN - A 26-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while walking on River Street near Dumont Road in Allegan in the early morning hours of Monday.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 Danny Payne was approached by two men around 3:45 a.m. Later, Payne told 24 Hour News 8 the men were white, were wearing black and were driving a small black pickup truck, similar to a Chevrolet S-10 or a Ford Ranger, with silver trim and a scoop on the hood.
One of the suspects, he said, had a star tatoo on his neck. And one was armed with what may have been a semi-automatic weapon.
They took his wallet, then headed north out of Allegan.
"It's probably something that's going to be in my mind for a while," Payne said Monday. "It makes you ask yourself, 'What's safe?'"
Anyone with information can call the Allegan Police Department at 269.673.2115.
