HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Hastings school bus driver is in the Barry County Jail charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor child, but who was not on his bus at the time.
James Kohn, 47, was interviewed and then arrested by detectives on Aug. 17. He's charged with rape and improperly touching a child, and officials believe more charges are likely.
Authorities believe there could be more victims, and Hastings police said this case is in the early stages of being investigated.
In a statement to 24 Hour News 8, interim Hastings superintendent Michelle Falcon said, "(Hastings Public Schools does) not tolerate this type of behavior. We are consulting attorneys right now. Any allegations of this nature qualify for immediate termination."
Kohn is being held on a $100,000 bond.
24 Hour News 8 will have more information as soon as possible.
