Bloomingdale's only cop suspended

Chief faces domestic violence charge

BLOOMINGDALE, Mich. (WOOD) - The only police officer in this village has been suspended with pay while he deals with a charge of domestic violence.

John Josten, the chief of police in the Bloomingdale, allegedly threw a glass during an argument that his wife in the shoulder nearly a month ago. His wife is an Allegan County Sheriff's Department deputy.

Josten entered a not guilty plea on the charge Friday in Allegan District Court. If he's found guilty he could serve a maximum of 93 days in jail.
