HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - Two ambulances and one helicopter responded to a four-car crash at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The collision occurred on M-37 near Shriner Street.
According to police, Andrew Corwin, 30, of Wayland was traveling north when he looked down for a moment. When he looked up, he saw a vehicle in front of him was stopped, preparing to turn onto Shriner Street. But he did not stop in time and rear-ended the vehicle driven by Patricia Gaiski, 53, of Hastings.
The impact spun Gaiski's vehicle into the oncoming lane where it collided with two southbound vehicles driven by Karolyn Johnson, 65, of Stockbridge, and Ellen Curtis, 70, of Delton.
All four drivers were injured and taken to Pennock Hospital in Hastings.
Jason Gaiski, 33, of Hastings, a passenger in Gaiski's vehicle, was airlifted to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Gaiski's other passenger, a 4-year-old, was also taken to Pennock Hospital.
This is the second collision to take place on this stretch of M-37 this week.
