GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The American Wind Energy Association is meeting Wednesday at Grand Valley State University's Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids.
The summit is bringing in several wind energy experts from around the nation.
Officials say the event is happening in Grand Rapids because of the advances in wind energy the state of Michigan has made. Michigan now boasts more than 3,000 wind energy jobs, and that number is expected to continue to rise.
24 Hour News 8's Brett Thomas talked Wednesday morning with Birgit Klohs of The Right Place about the summit. Watch the video for the complete interview.
