GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The search for the man who allegedly shot four people at a Grand Rapids bar continues, and police now have a name: Marcus Antoine Smith.
A woman was shot in the neck, two men were shot in the leg, and one man was shot in the foot around 2 a.m. on Feb. 22 at the New Roosevelt bar on Grandville Avenue SW.
On Feb. 25, the Kent County Prosecutor's Office issued a four-count assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder warrant for Smith.
Michigan State Police records show Smith was involved in an assault and battery case in 2001 when he was 15 years old. In 2007, he was convicted of felony for possession of a firearm, which landed him in prison for more than a year. Smith, who is also known as "Sparks," also had three misdemeanor drug violations in Kent County.
Smith is not in custody and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The Grand Rapids Police Department Major Case Team is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call GRPD at 616.456.3604 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
