GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A candlelight vigil was held Friday night for the families of the victims in Thursday's slayings in Grand Rapids.
The event began at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Gerald R. Ford Presidental Museum but supporters started flocking to the area as early as 7 p.m.
The event was organized in just one day with the help of a Facebook page.
"It's a tragic day, we just wanted to come out, it's a nice day today," said Bruce Carlson, one of the many who attended the vigil. "We wanted to remember these people that were innoncent and lost their lives."
Seven people were fatally shot Thursday before the suspect, Rodrick Dantzler, took his own life.
