GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 13-year-old sustained multiple broken bones when he hit a bus on his moped.
Authorities said the teen boy ran a stop sign at Malta Street as he was headed north on Emerald Avenue NE and broadsided a Dean Transportation bus.
He was taken to the hospital with multiple fractures, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
"It's just a laceration at the upper part of his forehead. His teeth were all in tact. He did spit out a piece of glass and I asked him if that's all there was and he said 'yeah,'" said Deborah Kridler. a neighbor and nurse. "I guess stuff went flying everywhere when he was, you know, when he had hit the bus."
As of Tuesday evening, he was listed in stable condition.
