GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Grand Rapids juvenile involved in a June 2012 home invasion and sexual assault won't know if he'll go to prison for another seven years.
The 14-year-old, who faced charges of armed robbery and home invasion, will remain in a juvenile facility until he is 21. At that point, a judge will decide if he will serve prison time.
Authorities say the teen kept watch as four men assaulted several college students in a house on Veto Street NW on June 4 and then raped a young woman.
Victims testified that the men in the house were attacked and tied up, and a woman was pistol-whipped in the face and head, had her hands tied behind her back and blindfolded her with a bandana, and was then raped by two suspects and forced to perform oral sex on two others.
Three of the four adults involved in the sexual assault -- James Hodges, Dorian Jones and Brandon Towns -- have each pleaded guilty to all eight counts against them. The fourth, Rederick Melton, will stand trial. None of the four will be sentenced until after Melton's trial.
