GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A stray bullet hit a Grand Rapids teenager as he watched TV in his home.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

It happened around 12:16 a.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of Butler Avenue SE.

Police told 24 Hour News 8 it appears someone walking outside the residence fired eight bullets at the home. Several of the bullets went through a wall and one of them hit the teen.

"If the bullet hadn't gone through the wall, it probably would have killed him," a lieutenant with the Grand Rapids Police Department said.

The search for the shooter continues.
