GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - One person was arrested during a standoff at an apartment home Thursday morning. Police entered the residence searching for a possible second suspect and discovered it was vacant.

The investigation began after someone fired a gun at a vehicle in the 800 block of McReynolds Avenue NW near Ninth Street in Grand Rapids. Nobody was injured during the shooting.

A man who police believe to be the shooter was taken into custody.

Police officers and a SWAT team then surrounded a home after believing someone else was holed up inside the residence. Authorities used loud speakers to negotiate the person out of the second-floor apartment.

Officers went into the home at 8:45 a.m. and realized nobody was there.
