GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - It's now illegal to sell, buy, or possess spice in Michigan. The new law was just signed by Governor Snyder last week.

It closes a loophole in the 2010 ban that outlawed specific chemical formulas. The new banĀ  targets a broad list of chemical compositions and increases penalties.

Selling K-2 or similar substances is now a seven-year felony. Possession is a two-year felony, and use is a one-year misdemeanor.
