GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The effects of the national sequester are being felt at Grand Rapids City Hall.

The Community Development Department, which helps fund neighborhood improvement and other programs, gets a large amount of funding through federal grants. And it may be getting less this year, thanks in part to the sequester.

Anticipated reductions in federal spending for specific grants range from just over 8 percent to just over 19 percent for three programs run by Community Development.

The final number won't be known until at least the end of the month.
