GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Police started and in short order wound down a large search in an Eastown neighborhood for an alleged home invasion suspect.
Grand Rapids police were originally called to a residence on Richard Terrace between Lake Drive and Wealthy Street around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a home invasion where the suspect may have injured children in the home.
But police at the scene told 24 Hour News 8 that report simply is not panning out. It is unclear what happened.
Police began to leave the area at 10:15 p.m.
Richard Terrance SE had been shut down as part of a police perimeter, and neighbors reported a heavy police presence.
East Grand Rapids police were also at the scene.
No one was hurt.
