GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Prices for gasoline across West Michigan began dropping Thursday night.
While some gas stations in the Grand Rapids area were still selling regular unleaded fuel for $3.35, others had dropped to $3.11, as of Friday morning.
The state average, as of Friday morning, was $3.30, compared to $3.28 nationwide, according to GasBuddy.com.
These numbers were $3.24 and $3.27, respectively, at this time last year.
On Wednesday, Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com, told 24 Hour News 8 that wholesale gas for the Great Lakes region is at its lowest level in more than a year and a half.
DeHaan said gas prices tend to dip between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
