GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A tip led police to an apartment complex where they arrested a man accused of robbing a gas station.
Witnesses said Navillus Trudell Heart, also known as Nate Heart, as at Park Place Apartments, 2900 block of Marshall Avenue SE.
Officers arrived about 1:10 a.m. Wednesday. Heart was in a hallway and spotted the officers and ran to a wooded area behind the complex.
Officers chased after Heart and tackled them, and they rolled down a steep embankment near a creek. Heart was then taken into custody.
Heart had been on the run since police said he robbed the Admiral gas station, 4219 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, last week. Police then scoured an area near 32nd Street and Eastern Avenue for Heart, who was considered armed and dangerous, but could not find him.
Heart was not armed when he was arrested Wednesday.
