GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - John Ball Zoo has some new additions.

Mighty Mike is a 300-pound, 13-foot long alligator. He is the first animal you'll see when visiting the zoo.

A baboon exhibit is also now open.

And on your way, say hi Nessie. The ArtPrize favorite is back in the pond at John Ball Park. The creature got a new, stronger skin that will make it a fixture in the park for years to come. There is also a new handicap accessible viewing deck on the pond, and a kiosk explaining how it was all built. The formal dedication of Nessie is Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the park.
