GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man from Wyoming has died eight days after his motorcycle collided with a pedestrian near a Grand Rapids intersection.
Thirty-year-old Derek Hollis passed away Oct. 7, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.
The pedestrian -- 23-year-old Sarah Alleman from New Hudson -- died a day after the Sept. 29 accident.
She was walking in the road near Wealthy Street and Visser Place SE around 7 p.m., witnesses told police.
Hollis was thrown from the motorcycle and not wearing a helmet, police said.
Both victims were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash for the motorcycle driver.
