GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 20-year-old Army reservist was shot to death in an alley a short distance from where a woman was slain in her house over the weekend.

And he also knew another another Grand Rapids woman who was shot to death last weekend.

Mahdi Hayes, Jr. was found around 3 a.m. in an alley near Prince and Henry SE. Authorities went to that area after a call of shots being fired.

On his Facebook page is a picture of Eve'Vana Galloway, the 20-year-old woman who was murdered in her apartment on Dorchester SW.

Police told 24 Hour News 8 the tires on Galloway's vehicle were slashed the night before she was found dead.

Investigators are not publicly saying these cases are connected.

No one has been arrested in any of the three slayings.

You are asked to call police at 616.456.3604 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345 if you have any information to help authorities in the case.
