GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - If you are looking for ways to get fit and make healthy choices in 2013, then check out the Living Well Expo at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.

The event is Friday from noon until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 14, and children under 5 are free.

A panel of community leaders will discuss possible solutions to Michigan's obesity epidemic Friday morning. The panel discussion is part of the ShapeMichigan initiative to get the state to slim down.

There will be 70 seminars and about 100 booths at the expo in which you can learn about everything from organic food to workout equipment and routines.

Participants can get their own body mass index and health results at an on-site health screening.

The WOTV 4 Women Crew will be doing demonstrations and classes at the two-day expo.

NBC's "Biggest Loser" Jeremy Britt will speak at the expo both days about families and weight loss.

If Michigan residents don't make changes, it is estimated half of the state's population will be obese by 2030.

Michigan spends about $24 billion in health care costs due to obesity.

Obesity leads to diseases and complications that cause about seven in 10 deaths in the U.S.
