GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Investigators are calling an overnight fire on Grand Rapids' northwest side suspicious.

The fire happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on 10th Street near Jennette.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy black smoke and fire at the back of the house.

They initially thought a family was inside, but later learned no one was there.

The fire extinguished in less than an hour.

It's still not clear what caused the fire.
