GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - There is a program in Grand Rapids that will inspect your home to make sure it is as energy efficient as possible.

GR1K offers a home assessment and gives recommendations on how you can make your home more energy efficient. Then depending on where you live, you can receive rebates or apply for a low-interest loan to make those improvements.

The assessment is being offered for $99 for the first 1,000 homeowners who apply. It usually costs $350.

Selma tucker, contract administrator and regional coordinator for the City of Grand Rapids, and Wade Slaghuis, a homeowner in Grand Rapids, discuss the program.
