GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A worker in the mail room inside the building that houses the GRPD and the Secretary of State in downtown Grand Rapids discovered a parcel containing white powder late Friday morning, prompting emergency personnel to lock down the building.
The parcel was sent through the United States Postal Service.
The powder has been determined to be harmless. But the investigation into who sent it, exactly what it is and why it was sent has not yet been revealed.
By 12:15 p.m., the crews cleared the scene.
24 Hour News 8 will have more information as it becomes available.
