GRPD cruiser broadsided by Jeep

Officer, other driver not seriously injured

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Grand Rapids Police Department cruiser was broadsided Monday evening on the city's northwest side.

It happened at the intersection of Bridge and Seward streets. The cruiser was headed down Bridge when he was broadsided on the passenger's side by a Jeep at Seward.

At the time, traffic on Seward had a flashing red light while traffic on Bridge had a flashing yellow light.

The officer was taken to a medical center to be checked out after the crash, but is expected to be fine.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

The cruiser was able to drive away from the scene.
