GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 27-year-old man is behind bars and charged with assaulting a teenager at an intersection on the northeast side of Grand Rapids.
Dontae Dujuan Burton was arrested Thursday and then charged on Friday with assault with intent to commit a felony and attempted unlawful imprisonment.
The teenager was walking by herself around 11:40 p.m. Sept. 17 near Leonard Street and Herrick Avenue NE, when police said the suspect came out of some bushes, grabbed her and tried to drag her back toward the bushes.
But she was able to escape and the suspect fled.
Police released a composite sketch of the suspect on Sept. 20.
