GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man arrested after an hours-long standoff in Grand Rapids has entered into a plea deal.
Alonzo Montez Gamble pleaded guilty Dec. 3, 2012 to one count of felony assault with a dangerous weapon. As part of the deal with prosecutors, he will be sentenced to a maximum of one year in the county jail.
Additionally, the three other counts Gamble faced -- a second count of assault with a dangerous weapon, a count of resisting and obstructing police and one count of interfering with a communications device -- were dropped.
Gamble, 24, was arrested after a four-hour standoff in which he allegedly held his recently separated girlfriend against her will inside a Grand Rapids apartment during the morning of Nov. 23, 2012. The woman was not hurt.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 14, 2013.
