GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - It will cost children and non-Grand Rapids residents a little less to enjoy three Grand Rapids city pools this summer.

Martin Luther King Park Pool, Briggs Park Pool and Richmond Park Pool will open July 2.

The new fees are --

  • $1 for children aged 1-17
  • $2 for adults
  • $4 for non-city residents

These rates are down from last year's --

  • $2 for children
  • $5 for non-residents

The change is due to a drop in attendance in 2011.

City residents can purchase an $80 household pass for the full seven-week session.

Hours for the pools --

  • Martin Luther King Park Pool -- 12:30-7 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 12:30-5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday
  • Briggs Park Pool -- 12:30-5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 12:30-7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday
  • Richmond Park Pool -- 12:30-5 p.m. Monday; 12:30-7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
