GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Grand Rapids Griffin has been arrested on "super drunk" driving charges, according to the Detroit News.
The Detroit News is reporting that Riley Sheahan, who was the Detroit Red Wings' No. 1 draft pick in 2010, was arrested on Oct. 29 in Grand Rapids after driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
The Red Wings told the newspaper Sheahan now faces a charge of driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 or higher and providing false information after being stopped.
He has pleaded not guilty, The Detroit News reports.
Sheahan, a center, missed one game but is now back on the ice for the Griffins, according to the newspaper.
Griffins spokesperson Andy Cleves confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 Tuesday evening that Sheahan was arrested and has been disciplined internally.
The Red Wings and Griffins have been aware of the arrest since the time of the incident, Cleves said.
When Sheahan was a freshman at Notre Dame in 2010, according to The Detroit News, he was arrested for public intoxication and alcohol consumption as a minor.
