GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - The National Cathedral in Washington is dedicating a cushion honoring the late ex-President Gerald R. Ford.

Mlive.com says the kneeler cushion bears the presidential seal and an image of Grace Episcopal Church, among other events in the life of the longtime West Michigan congressman.

It's being dedicated April 19. Susan Ford Bales, is to read Proverbs 3:1-6, which is engraved on a bench at Ford's burial site in Grand Rapids.

By tradition, every dead U.S. president has such a cushion among the 1,500 that decorate the cathedral in the nation's capital.

Ford's cushion will also bear images of the Eagle Scouts logo, a football, the U.S. Capitol building, where he served the nation for so many years, and a silhouette of Ford standing with his wife Betty Ford.
