Surveillance pics reveal GR bank robber

Police continue to search for the suspect

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating a robbery at a Fifth Third Bank.

Police dispatch received a 911 call at 10:21 a.m. Thursday regarding the crime at 2465 Burton St. SE.

Officers arrived and searched for the suspect but to no avail.

He is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, having a medium build and long hair. He was wearing a black, hooded, winter coat, black pants, and a multi-colored animal print bandana on his head.

Police at the scene told 24 Hour News 8 the crook walked into the bank and threatened the clerks, demanding they give him some money.

He did not have a gun but implied he was armed, the clerks told investigators.

The suspect ran in a northbound direction from the scene after being given an unknown amount of cash.
