GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Lowell resident is in critical condition at a hospital after he crashed his vehicle on an exit ramp of a Grand Rapids highway.
Robert Kraatz was driving north on U.S. 131 and exited at Franklin Street just before 7 p.m. Saturday. He lost control of his Dodge Caravan, which struck the impact attenuator, rolled on its side and hit a concrete barrier, witnesses told police.
Kraatz was partially ejected from his vehicle.
The 66-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment to head and internal injuries.
"Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash," police said in a news release.
