GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The planned privatization of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans is being blocked by an Ingham County judge.

According to a news release, an Ingham County Circuit Court judge is not permitting the state to continue with the privatization of the veterans home care services.

The judge said the plan would result in irreparable harm to the veterans residing in the home.

For now, 170 state workers will be able to keep the jobs that many rallied for back in July.

The judge scheduled a hearing on the issue for October 12.
