BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WOOD) - Storm Team 8 Chief Meteorologist Bill Steffen was honored Sunday afternoon for his long career in broadcasting.
Bill received the Silver Circle award from Michigan's chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Science, recognizing his 38 years in the broadcast business.
"The Silver Circle honors media professionals who began their careers in television at least 25 years ago, either in a performing, creative, technical or administrative role within the industry or in an area related to television," according to NATAS.
Bill's passion for the weather started when he was just a boy measuring snowfall outside his Chicago-area home. Today, he's a staple in West Michigan weather.
Watch above: 24 Hour News 8's Brian Sterling looks back at Bill's career and everything he has brought to West Michigan weather.
