GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - 24 Hour News 8 has learned that Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, was in Grand Rapids Monday.

Mrs. Romney was in Grand Rapids for an event to thank volunteers in the Romney campaign during the final eight days of Decision 2012.

The event was at 3:30 p.m. at the Kent Victory Center.

Ann Romney said a win from Michigan would "very nice." She also said though she and her husband know it's difficult to beat an incumbent president, Mitt Romney would do it.

==24 Hour News 8 political reporter Rick Albin was at the event and filed the above video report.==

An EPIC-MRA poll in early October showed President Barack Obama leading Governor Mitt Romney in Michigan. The poll showed Obama leading Romney 48-45, with 7% either undecided or refused to answer. The poll of 600 people was taken Oct. 4-6 and has a margin of error of 4%.
