GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - One day after being charged with armed robbery in a separate incident, an 18-year-old was officially charged with killing a man on the sidewalk of a northeast Grand Rapids neighborhood.
Ali Sharif Gray is accused of open murder in the death of Anthony Tompkins on Sweet Street NE Monday night. Tompkins was 23.
Gray also faces a felony firearms charge and a charge of carrying a concealed weapon, on top of the armed robbery charge for a December 2012 crime.
He remains jailed without bond and is expected back in court later this month.
