GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Michigan agents from the Department of Treasury seized the contents of a downtown Grand Rapids bar during the noon hour Thursday.

The agents loaded furnishings from Raggs to Riches - including the bar stools - into a rental truck outside the bar on Pearl Street west of Ottawa, possibly to help cover unpaid sales taxes.

Agents wouldn't comment but documents on file at the Kent County Register of Deeds office reveal that since June 2009 the state has filed tax liens worth more than $56,000.

Raggs to Riches managed to pay off just under $18,000 of that amount.

The bar operated in a popular basement location at 106 Pearl just West of Ottawa Avenue for a number of years.
