GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The woman accused of slipping past Department of Human Services security to threaten a worker has entered into a plea deal.
Felicia Thompson, 24, entered into a restricted area of the Grand Rapids DHS building in July, where she threatened to assault a Child Protective Services employee.
She was later arrested for the threat, at which point she spit on a Grand Rapids police officer.
At a Thursday case status conference, Thompson pleaded guilty to one count of threatening an FIA (Family Independence Agency) worker and one count of attempted assault/obstruction of a police officer.
In return for her plea, a count of assault/obstruction of a police officer and one count of being a habitual offender were dropped.
Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
After Thompson bypassed security by riding to the normally-restricted third floor with a custodian, DHS reviewed and updated its security procedures.
