GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 19-year-old accused rapist, still in school as a senior at Grand Rapids Central High School, was released from jail on bond Wednesday afternoon.

Randy Mayfield Howard has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl between the ages of 13 and 16 in the hallway at Central.

He and the alleged victim were making up credit hours on a Saturday when the incident is said to have happened.

More charges could be on the way for the teen; officials are just waiting for additional details in the case to be released.

For the May 15 incident inside a second-floor hallway, Howard has been charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct causing injury. During the Saturday school session, two staff members tended to a small group of students and no security officers were present.

The district plans to look into its procedures and evaluate whether changes are necessary, a spokesperson said.

Howard awaits charges for other alleged crimes, as well.

A few days before May 15, he was arrested in Kentwood under another name -- Randy Mayfield Curry Howard. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence.

24 Hour News 8 was denied access by the 61st District Court to the paperwork that details the conditions of Howard's bond. He is not allowed to have contact with the alleged victim in this case.

Howard will be in court again later this month. He was featured in October on woodtv.com as a senior on the Grand Rapids Central football team.
