Police respond to northeast GR shooting

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - There was a shooting Wednesday night at Maryland Park Apartments on Maryland Court NE, between Michigan Street and I-196.

    The victim was shot once in the back and has non life-threatening injuries. The shooting took place in a stairwell, according to authorities.

    Although police were called to reports of shots fired, at one point there was a report that the victim had been stabbed.

    Police are looking for the shooter, who is believed to be driving a black Ford Explorer.
