GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - For four nights in August, Rosa Parks Circle will become an outdoor movie theatre.
The Michigan Film Festival and the Grand Rapids Art Museum's GRAM on the Green will present a movie each Friday night in August.
"Movie Night in the Park" will show Jurassic Park on August 7, followed by a Buster Keaton classic, The General, on August 14. Grease is the feature on August 21, and the series winds up with Mr. Art Critic, filmed on Mackinac Island, directed by Traverse City's Rich Brauer and starring Bronson Pinchot.
Each week's feature will begin at 10 p.m. Various film events will precede each movie: a look at special effects, the film incentives for Michigan, how to become an extra, and a Michigan filmmaker's perspective.
It all leads up to the Michigan Film Festival on August 28-29 at both the Grand Rapids Art Museum and UICA.
