GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Jackson woman may face felony child neglect charges after police say she left her 2-year-old son home alone as she drove to Grand Rapids to pick up friends.
Jackson police told 24 Hour News 8 the boy's father stopped by their house to pick up some things Sunday night, and found the boy by himself on the floor. The man called 911 and said the child was alone for about 90 minutes.
The 23-year-old woman told police her friends promised to fill up her vehicle's gas tank and give her $30 for the ride.
Neighbors of the couple wouldn't talk on camera to news crews, but said they weren't surprised, saying they have seen the child and his sister alone on the streets before.
