Man shot in back on GR's SE side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A "male victim" was shot Wednesday morning near the intersection of Benjamin Avenue and Logan Street in southeast Grand Rapids, police said.

He was shot in the back and taken to the hospital. The victim's name has not been released and there's no word on his exact condition.

An arrest shortly afterward on Griggs Street may be tied to the shooting, a Grand Rapids lieutenant said.

Police are investigating whether the mid-morning incident is tied to an overnight shooting nearby.

The shootings are at least the fifth and sixth in southeast Grand Rapids this month.
