GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The case of two young men accused in a robbery and sexual assault in Grand Rapids will move forward to Circuit Court for trial.

On Wednesday, Lucas Such and Gregory Quinn Jr. made the decision to waive their preliminary hearings on the charges in a Grand Rapids courtroom. They were taken into custody Sept. 20 and arraigned two days later.

The victims told police the crimes happened in a secluded area near Plainfield Avenue and Grove Street in Grand Rapids on Sept. 14 as the women were walking down the street.

Police released composite sketches of the suspects and received numerous tips that led to the arrests.

Such, 18, was arraigned on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of unarmed robbery. Quinn, 22, was arraigned on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct , unarmed robbery and habitual offender.

They could face life in prison if convicted. The suspects live near the crime scene, police said.

No trial date has been set.
