Citizen input of streamlined government encouraged

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Lt. Governor John Cherry is conducting a series of town meetings to receive public input on his efforts of streamlined government and what services should be provided.

A meeting was held Wednesday, June 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Community College Calkins Science Center Auditorium at 226 Bostwick Ave. N.E.

A workgroup under Cherry's leadership has identified the seven core functions of state government as public safety, education, public systems, well-being, sustainability, economic opportunity and prosperity, efficiency and effectiveness.
