Jewelry thief sent to jail

Christopher Pearson robbed Fox Jewelers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man who robbed a Kentwood jewelry store and was arrested in Georgia was sentenced Tuesday to five months in jail.

Christopher Pearson and two other men broke into Thomas S. Fox Diamond Jewelers on July 11 and stole at least $40,000 of merchandise. The crime was caught on the store's surveillance cameras.

Peason was arrested by the FBI on July 14.

In October, the 19-year-old admitted he committed the crime. Pearson will also be on probation for five years, and was ordered to repay nearly $55,000.

The other men in the case have not yet been arrested.
