GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Grand Rapids police and the FBI are following up on a Monday morning robbery in which a man is accused of stealing cash, and then running from, Huntington Bank.
The suspect, who witnesses said is a black man likely in his mid-20s, is described as about 6-foot-4, thin and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and ski mask. He was carrying a dark-colored hand gun, GRPD said in a news release.
The man entered the bank, 1158 Wealthy St. SE, just after 10 a.m. and verbally demanded money, police said. Officers responded to the call at 10:16 a.m., and witnesses said by that time, the suspect had taken off.
He was last seen heading down an alley east of the bank, located south of Wealthy Street. The man had cash, although an amount was not provided by police.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Grand Rapids police or Silent Observer.
