GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The eighth annual Great Skate drew big crowds to Rosa Parks Circle on Sunday.
Each player on the Grand Rapids Griffins skated for at least one hour with fans, as did some members of the media, including Marc Thompson, Laura Velasquez, Terri DeBoer and Larry Figurski. The money raised went toward the Griffins Youth Foundation.
Organizers are expecting to collect more than $10,000 to benefit underprivileged and physically challenged children in West Michigan.
